This market tracks the outcome of the first set in the professional tennis match between Elina Svitolina and Daria Snigur at the 2026 Wimbledon Women's Singles Round of 128 on June 30. The winner of set 1 will determine the market resolution.
The market resolves based on which player wins set 1 in the Elina Svitolina vs Daria Snigur match at 2026 Wimbledon Women's Singles Round of 128. If the match does not occur before it starts due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation, the market resolves to fair price. If postponed or delayed, the market remains open and closes after the rescheduled match concludes within two weeks. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play resolve accordingly; those that cannot are resolved to Fair Market Price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different pricing mechanisms. Sportsbooks set fixed lines and manage risk through margin, while prediction markets like this one are priced by supply and demand from independent traders. Sportsbooks may move lines based on sharp action or liability concerns, whereas this market adjusts continuously as new information emerges. Neither is inherently more accurate, but comparing the two can reveal where public perception differs from professional oddsmakers' views. Traders often monitor both to identify value opportunities.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for shares representing each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the current consensus probability: a share trading at $0.72 implies roughly a 72% chance of that outcome occurring. As new information surfaces or trader conviction shifts, buy and sell orders adjust the price in real time. Liquidity and trading volume influence how quickly prices move and how tight the bid-ask spread remains.
This market resolves around Jun 30, 2026, once the first set of the match concludes and the winner is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which player wins the opening set according to official match records. Until that point, traders can continue to buy and sell shares as odds fluctuate. Resolution is automatic once the event result is confirmed, and payouts are distributed to holders of the winning outcome.
Several factors can shift odds before the match begins or during play. Pre-match developments include injury reports, recent form, head-to-head records, and court surface conditions. During the set itself, momentum swings, break points, and service performance can trigger rapid repricing as traders react to live action. Weather, player fitness updates, or coaching changes announced before the match also influence trader positioning. Major upsets or unexpected tactical adjustments mid-set often produce the sharpest price movements as the market recalibrates its probability estimate.
