Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they serve different purposes and attract different trader bases. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and profit margins, while prediction markets aggregate trader beliefs through continuous price discovery. This market reflects the collective forecast of participants willing to stake capital on their view of card distribution in the match. Comparing this market's implied probability to sportsbook lines can reveal where consensus differs, though each venue operates under distinct rules and incentive structures.
On Limitless, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the balance between buyers and sellers at any given moment. As new information emerges—team lineups, injury reports, or historical card patterns—traders adjust their positions, moving the odds. The current implied probability reflects the aggregated conviction of active participants on the platform.
This market resolves around Jun 28, 2026, once the Egypt versus Iran match concludes and official card counts are verified. The outcome is determined by comparing the total yellow cards issued to each team during the match. Whichever team receives more cards triggers a win for that side of the market. Resolution is confirmed once the result is verifiable from credible public reporting of the final match statistics.
Several factors may shift odds before the match. Team announcements regarding key player availability or tactical changes can alter expectations about discipline and card risk. Referee assignments sometimes influence card distribution patterns, as different officials maintain varying standards for cautions. Recent form, head-to-head history, and any pre-match controversies may also sway trader positioning. As match day nears, late-breaking news about injuries or lineup changes typically triggers sharp repricing of this market.
