Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks frequently incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, which represents their profit margin. This market, however, is driven purely by the collective predictions of traders, theoretically resulting in more accurate probabilities, though market participants may have informational advantages or biases. It’s common to see discrepancies between the two, especially as new information emerges or public opinion shifts regarding the West Ham vs Fulham match. Comparing the two can be a useful exercise for informed forecasting.

On Limitless, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes. The price of each contract reflects the market’s assessment of the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy contracts for a particular outcome, its price increases, and the implied probability rises. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The platform uses a standard market-making model, allowing traders to set their own bids and asks, creating a dynamic and responsive pricing mechanism for the West Ham vs Fulham match. This contrasts with fixed-odds betting, where the sportsbook sets the price.

This market resolves around Sep 16, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official result of the EFL Cup match between West Ham and Fulham, as reported by a trusted sports data source. The platform will verify the final score and determine the winning outcome based on that information. Traders who correctly predicted the result will be paid out according to the final market prices at resolution. It’s important to monitor the event’s progress leading up to this date.

Several factors could influence this market before Sep 16, 2026. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either West Ham or Fulham would likely cause significant price movement. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments announced by the managers, or even weather conditions on match day could also impact trader sentiment. Unexpected news about team morale or internal conflicts could also play a role. Furthermore, major upsets in other EFL Cup matches might lead to a reassessment of probabilities for this particular contest, shifting volume and prices accordingly.
