Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and fee structures, all of which influence how prices settle. Kalshi's regulated derivatives model and Polymarket's AMM-style mechanics create distinct price discovery processes. Timing lags in order flow, regional trader concentration, and platform-specific incentive programs can cause temporary divergence. Arbitrage traders often exploit these gaps, but friction costs and withdrawal delays mean spreads persist. Monitoring both venues helps you understand where the broader market consensus truly lies on this matchup.
Key injury announcements, especially to starting quarterbacks or star defensive players, typically trigger sharp price moves in this market. Weather forecasts closer to game day—wind, rain, or extreme cold—can shift offensive and defensive expectations. Betting line movement at major sportsbooks often precedes prediction market repricing, so tracking Vegas action provides early signals. Team news, coaching decisions, and late-week roster changes also influence trader positioning. Trading volume spikes often accompany these catalysts, creating opportunities for informed traders to adjust their exposure before the market fully reprices.
