Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different pricing mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, while prediction markets like this one are priced by traders who buy and sell shares based on their beliefs about the outcome. Prediction markets can sometimes offer sharper, more efficient pricing because they aggregate dispersed information from many participants. However, sportsbooks may occasionally offer better value depending on their margins and market conditions. Comparing both sources helps you identify opportunities and understand how different venues value the same event.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each possible outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the collective assessment of all traders participating in the market. As traders place orders, the price adjusts dynamically based on supply and demand. Higher prices indicate stronger belief in that outcome, while lower prices suggest lower perceived probability. This continuous price discovery process allows you to see real-time market sentiment and execute trades at transparent, market-determined rates.
This market resolves around Jul 28, 2026, once the second half of the match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome will be determined by the official final score recorded for the second half only, not the full match. Resolution occurs after the event is confirmed through established sports reporting channels. Until that time, you can continue to trade your position as new developments and information influence market prices. Early resolution is possible if the match is abandoned or postponed, depending on the platform's specific rules.
Several factors could shift prices in this market before it resolves. Team news such as injuries, suspensions, or lineup changes announced before kickoff can significantly impact odds. Early match momentum and goals scored in the first half often influence trader expectations for the second half outcome. Weather conditions, referee decisions, and tactical adjustments made at halftime may also prompt repricing. Social media sentiment, expert commentary, and betting patterns from other venues can trigger rapid moves. Additionally, any unexpected developments during the match itself will drive real-time trading activity and price adjustments as traders update their forecasts.
