Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from sportsbook odds due to varying information and incentives. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, while this market allows traders to express their own independent beliefs. If a significant discrepancy exists between the two, arbitrage opportunities may arise, as traders could potentially profit by betting on both venues. However, it’s important to note that prediction market odds represent the collective forecast of participants, not necessarily a superior prediction.
