Prediction market odds on this market often differ from traditional sportsbook lines due to decentralized pricing and sharper, user-driven probabilities. While sportsbooks may round or adjust odds for broader appeal, platforms like Polymarket and Kalshi let traders fine-tune each possible score. This can create wider spreads or more nuanced pricing, especially for less common outcomes. Additionally, prediction markets may reflect real-time news and sentiment faster, leading to quicker adjustments than typical sportsbook updates.
On Polymarket and Kalshi, prices can vary because each platform attracts different user bases and liquidity patterns. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. For example, one venue might see heavier betting from soccer enthusiasts, skewing its probabilities, while another could have more general traders. Market design differences — such as fee structures or order types — also influence how prices form. These factors combined often result in distinct implied chances for the same outcomes across the two sites.
