If the match is postponed, the market will remain open until it is completed; if it is canceled with no make-up game, the market resolves to "0-0." The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook offerings. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, while this market allows traders to express their own beliefs about the probability of each exact score. If a significant number of traders believe a particular outcome is more likely than sportsbooks suggest, the odds on Polymarket will shift accordingly. This can sometimes lead to more accurate predictions, as the market incorporates a wider range of information and perspectives than a single sportsbook might.
This market resolves around Sep 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the Dundalk FC vs. Shelbourne FC match will be used to determine the winning outcome. Any official result published by the league or a recognized sports news source will serve as the basis for settlement. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the shares they hold in the correct outcome.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Late-breaking news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Dundalk FC or Shelbourne FC would likely cause shifts in probabilities. Changes in weather conditions, such as heavy rain or strong winds, could also impact the expected game flow and influence trader sentiment. Furthermore, any significant tactical adjustments announced by either team’s manager prior to kickoff could lead to adjustments in the odds on Polymarket.
