Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on expert analysis and incorporate a profit margin, while this market allows traders to express their own beliefs. If prediction market participants collectively disagree with the sportsbook's assessment, the odds here will adjust accordingly. It's common to see discrepancies, especially before significant events or when new information emerges, as the market dynamically adjusts to available data.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate and express their views, the price adjusts to find an equilibrium. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's price is determined solely by supply and demand among traders on Polymarket, and reflects their collective assessment of the likelihood of each possible result.
This market resolves around Sep 30, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
