The markets resolve based on the total points scored by both Duke and Illinois during the third quarter of their college football game scheduled for September 12, 2026. For each market, if the combined score exceeds the specified threshold (e.g., more than 2.5, 5.5, 7.5, etc.), it resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Only points scored in the third quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, the market resolves to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbook odds are typically set by a small group of experts, while this market’s odds are determined by the collective predictions of many individuals. It’s common to see discrepancies between the two, especially before a significant amount of trading occurs. These differences can arise from varying levels of information, biases, or simply differing interpretations of the teams’ strengths. Analyzing both can provide a more comprehensive outlook.
This market resolves around Sep 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the 3rd quarter of the Duke vs Illinois game will be used to determine whether the total points scored were over or under the threshold set by the market. The resolution will be based on official game statistics, ensuring an objective and verifiable result. Traders will then be paid out based on whether their contracts aligned with the actual outcome.
Several signals could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Duke or Illinois would likely have a significant impact. Changes in betting trends at sportsbooks could also cause shifts in the market. Unexpected announcements about team strategies or coaching decisions might also move the price. Finally, even general sentiment and public perception surrounding the teams’ performance can contribute to fluctuations in trading volume and price until the market resolves.
