Prediction market odds often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the differing incentives and information sources of participants. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, while prediction markets reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse crowd incentivized to be accurate. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially early in the market’s life cycle, as prediction markets can incorporate information faster and from a wider range of sources than sportsbooks. This can lead to more efficient pricing, though sportsbooks may offer more competitive odds closer to the event.
