This prediction market group focuses on whether individual golfers will finish in the top 20 at the 2026 Irish Open golf tournament, including ties. Markets are created for a large number of players, allowing for speculation on their performance. Resolution relies on the official results published by the DP World Tour.
This market will resolve to "Yes" if the listed player finishes in the top 20 at the 2026 Irish Open tournament, including ties. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". If final results are not announced by September 20, 2026 at 11:59PM ET this market will resolve to "No". The primary resolution source will be the official results published by the DP World Tour website (https://www.europeantour.com/).
Each market resolves to Yes if the specified golfer finishes in the top 20 positions (including ties) during the 2026 Amgen Irish Open. If a golfer forfeits, withdraws, or does not participate, the market resolves to Fair Market Price if the withdrawal occurs before teeing off, and to No if after teeing off. These rules apply uniformly across all markets, ensuring consistent resolution based on participation status and final tournament standings.
Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Kalshi, often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of bettors, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and aim to balance action on all sides, while this market allows traders to directly express their beliefs. As a result, you may find discrepancies between the implied probabilities in prediction markets and those offered by sportsbooks. These differences can sometimes highlight potentially undervalued or overvalued outcomes, offering opportunities for informed traders.
Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Prices on Polymarket and Kalshi can diverge due to several factors. Each platform attracts a different user base with varying levels of expertise and information. Trading volume also plays a role; higher volume typically leads to more efficient price discovery. Furthermore, the specific mechanisms for trading and order execution on each platform can influence price movements. Currently, Polymarket currently favors Will Jordan Smith finishing in the Top 20 at the 2026 Irish Open at 100%, while Kalshi leans toward Marcus Armitage finishing top 20 at n/a%.
Several factors could significantly shift the odds in this market. Player form leading up to the Irish Open, including recent tournament performances and any reported injuries, will be closely watched. Weather conditions during the tournament can also have a substantial impact, favoring certain playing styles. Unexpected withdrawals of key players would also cause significant movement. Any news regarding course conditions or changes to the tournament format could also influence trading activity. Monitoring these signals will be crucial for anyone looking to capitalize on opportunities in this market.
