This event group covers a Best-of-2 Dota 2 match between Team Yandex and OG at the Esports World Cup Group D, scheduled for July 7, 2024 at 12:30 PM ET. Markets span match winner, individual game winners, and in-game events (Rampages, Ultra Kills, Roshan kills, barracks destruction, and day/night cycle timing).
This market refers to the Dota 2 match between Team Yandex and OG in the Esports World Cup Group D, initially scheduled for July 7 at 12:30PM ET. This market will resolve to "Team Yandex" if Team Yandex win the match against OG. This market will resolve to "OG" if OG win the match against Team Yandex. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://www.dotabuff.com. However, if https://www.dotabuff.com has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Polymarket and Predict can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and fee structures, which naturally creates pricing variations. Polymarket may see heavier participation from certain geographic or professional trader communities, while Predict draws its own user base with distinct risk appetites. Order book depth, withdrawal policies, and platform-specific incentives also influence how quickly prices adjust to new information. Additionally, slight differences in how each platform structures the same outcome can lead traders to perceive marginal edges differently. These spreads typically narrow as the event date approaches and information becomes more concrete, but temporary divergences create opportunities for cross-platform traders.
Key catalysts include roster announcements or last-minute player substitutions, recent scrim results or team performance data, injury or availability updates, and meta shifts in the Dota 2 patch environment. Community analysis and expert commentary from prominent esports analysts often shift trader positioning as new information surfaces. Tournament bracket placement, seeding implications, and head-to-head historical matchup data can also influence sentiment. Media coverage highlighting team form, coaching changes, or strategic innovations may prompt repricing. Finally, odds typically tighten significantly within 24 hours of the match as uncertainty resolves and late information becomes public, so early movement often reflects longer-term thesis development rather than immediate event-driven shocks.
