This market refers to the Dota 2 match between Team Nemesis and Vici Gaming in the Esports World Cup Group C, initially scheduled for July 10 at 10:00AM ET. This market will resolve to "Team Nemesis" if Team Nemesis win the match against Vici Gaming. This market will resolve to "Vici Gaming" if Vici Gaming win the match against Team Nemesis. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://www.dotabuff.com. However, if https://www.dotabuff.com has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and manage risk, while prediction markets aggregate the beliefs of traders risking real capital on outcomes. For esports events like this one, prediction markets may react faster to roster changes, recent form, or community sentiment, whereas sportsbooks rely on oddsmakers' models and may adjust more slowly to new information.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader positions into real-time probabilities. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Participants buy and sell shares corresponding to each outcome, and the cumulative volume on each side determines the current odds. The top outcome currently reflects strong trader conviction, making it easy to spot which result the market favors most heavily at any given moment.
This market resolves around Jul 10, 2026, once the match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome will be confirmed based on the official match result as reported by tournament organizers and major esports news outlets. Until that point, traders can adjust positions as new information emerges, team announcements are made, or betting sentiment shifts.
Key catalysts include roster announcements, player substitutions, recent tournament performance, and community commentary from professional analysts. Patch updates to Dota 2 that alter hero viability or game balance can shift strategic expectations. Injury reports, team statements, or scrimmage results shared on social media may also influence trader positioning. As the match date approaches, increased media coverage and expert predictions typically drive heightened trading activity and price adjustments.
