This market refers to the Dota 2 match between Rune Eaters and Xtreme Gaming in the Esports World Cup Group A, initially scheduled for July 7 at 5:00AM ET. This market will resolve to "Rune Eaters" if Rune Eaters win the match against Xtreme Gaming. This market will resolve to "Xtreme Gaming" if Xtreme Gaming win the match against Rune Eaters. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://www.dotabuff.com. However, if https://www.dotabuff.com has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Prediction markets and traditional sportsbooks price events differently because they operate on distinct mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds based on internal models and manage liability; prediction markets let traders themselves determine prices through supply and demand. This market often reflects real-time consensus from a broad participant base, while sportsbooks may lag or diverge based on their risk appetite. Comparing the two can reveal where professional traders and casual bettors disagree on this match's likely outcome.
On Predict, traders buy and sell shares representing each possible outcome, with the current price reflecting the collective probability estimate of all active participants. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more capital flowing into one outcome, the higher its price climbs; conversely, reduced interest causes prices to fall. This continuous auction mechanism means prices update instantly as new trades execute, allowing you to enter or exit your position at the prevailing market rate whenever you choose.
This market resolves around Jul 7, 2026, once the match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome will reflect the official match result as confirmed by Esports World Cup organizers and widely recognized esports news sources. Until that point, prices will fluctuate based on pre-match analysis, team news, and trader sentiment about which side is more likely to prevail in the best-of-two format.
Key catalysts include roster announcements, player injury or availability updates, recent tournament results, and head-to-head scrim outcomes if disclosed. Strategic meta shifts in the current Dota 2 patch can favor one team's playstyle over another, prompting repricing. Commentary from professional analysts and community sentiment around team form will also influence trader positioning. Any official statements about match conditions or format changes could trigger sharp moves as participants reassess their edge.
