This market refers to the Dota 2 match between REKONIX and Team Spirit in the Esports World Cup Group C, initially scheduled for July 10 at 10:00AM ET. This market will resolve to "REKONIX" if REKONIX win the match against Team Spirit. This market will resolve to "Team Spirit" if Team Spirit win the match against REKONIX. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://www.dotabuff.com. However, if https://www.dotabuff.com has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance liability and profit, while prediction markets aggregate the beliefs of traders risking real capital on outcomes. Prediction markets typically adjust faster to new information because traders profit immediately from accurate forecasts, whereas sportsbooks may lag or apply wider margins. For this market, comparing the current odds here to major esports betting sites can reveal whether one venue perceives an edge the other has missed.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that calculates odds based on the ratio of shares held in each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders buy or sell shares to express their belief, and the price adjusts continuously as the pool composition changes. Higher trading volume typically narrows the spread between bid and ask prices, making it cheaper to enter or exit positions. The current odds reflect the aggregated conviction of all active traders, updated in real time as new bets flow in.
This market resolves around Jul 10, 2026, once the match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome will be confirmed based on the official final score and match result as documented by esports authorities and tournament organizers. Until that time, odds will continue to shift as new information emerges, team rosters are finalized, or injury reports surface. Traders can exit positions at any time before resolution by selling their shares back into the market.
Key catalysts include roster changes or player substitutions announced by either team, recent tournament performance and win rates, patch updates to the game that may favor certain strategies, and injury or availability news affecting star players. Analyst predictions and community sentiment shared across esports forums and social media can also shift trader conviction. Head-to-head historical matchups and recent scrim results often influence how traders price the odds. Any major meta shifts or controversial rule interpretations in the lead-up to the event may trigger sharp repricing as participants reassess their edge.
