If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://www.dotabuff.com. However, if https://www.dotabuff.com has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.
Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance liability and extract a margin, while prediction markets like Polymarket are driven by trader consensus and real-money risk. For esports events such as this one, sportsbook odds may lag behind prediction market prices if the latter attract more specialized Dota 2 analysts. Comparing the two can reveal where public perception differs from professional assessment, though prediction markets typically converge toward actual outcomes as resolution approaches.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that adjusts odds based on trader activity and order flow. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Prices reflect the collective belief of all participants buying and selling shares in each outcome contract. As traders deposit capital and place bets, the AMM recalibrates probabilities in real time, ensuring that the most likely outcomes command higher prices. This mechanism incentivizes informed traders to correct mispriced contracts, gradually aligning market odds with ground truth as the match date approaches.
This market resolves around Jun 27, 2026, once the playoff match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public reporting of the tournament. The outcome is determined by the official result recorded by The International Europe Closed Qualifier organizers and confirmed through established esports news sources. Resolution occurs after any necessary review periods and once the winning team is formally announced. Traders should monitor official tournament channels and reputable esports media for confirmation before the resolution deadline.
Market prices may shift based on team roster changes, player injuries or substitutions, recent tournament performance, and pre-match analysis from esports commentators. Patch updates to Dota 2 that alter hero balance can influence perceived team strength. Betting syndicates and professional analysts publishing predictions may also trigger volume spikes and repricing. Live in-game events—such as early game momentum swings or unexpected draft choices—can cause sharp movements during the match itself. Social media sentiment and betting trends from other platforms may signal shifting confidence in either team.
