This market refers to the Dota 2 match between LGD Gaming and Team Yandex in the Esports World Cup Group D, initially scheduled for July 10 at 12:30PM ET. This market will resolve to "LGD Gaming" if LGD Gaming win the match against Team Yandex. This market will resolve to "Team Yandex" if Team Yandex win the match against LGD Gaming. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://www.dotabuff.com. However, if https://www.dotabuff.com has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Prediction markets and traditional sportsbooks price events differently because they operate on distinct mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds based on internal models and risk management, then adjust them to balance their book. Prediction markets, by contrast, aggregate trader beliefs through continuous price discovery—the odds reflect what thousands of participants collectively believe will happen. This market's odds may diverge from sportsbook lines because traders have different information access, time horizons, and risk tolerances. Comparing the two can reveal where consensus breaks down and highlight potential value for informed bettors.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader orders into real-time probabilities. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome, and the price of each share reflects the collective assessment of that result's likelihood. As more capital flows into one outcome, its price rises and the competing outcome's price falls, maintaining a zero-sum dynamic. The spread between bid and ask prices tightens as volume increases, rewarding active participation and penalizing illiquidity.
This market resolves around Jul 10, 2026, once the match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome will be confirmed based on the official tournament record and match statistics. Until that point, traders can adjust positions as new information—injury reports, team announcements, or pre-match analysis—becomes available. Early resolution is possible if the match is cancelled or postponed, though the market will remain open as long as the event remains scheduled.
Several catalysts could shift trader positioning before Jul 10, 2026. Roster changes or player injuries announced by either team would immediately impact perceived strength. Recent tournament results, scrim outcomes, or patch updates to the game itself can reshape strategic expectations. Media coverage, analyst commentary, and community sentiment often precede price moves as traders incorporate new narratives. Odds may also drift as the match date approaches and uncertainty naturally declines. Monitoring team social media, esports news outlets, and in-game statistics provides early signals of shifting momentum.
