This event group covers a Best-of-2 Dota 2 match between L1ga Team and Nigma Galaxy at the Esports World Cup Group B, scheduled for July 7, 2024 at 7:30 AM ET. Markets span match outcome, individual game winners, and in-game events (barracks destruction, Roshan kills, rampages, ultra kills, and day/night cycle timing).
This market refers to the Dota 2 match between L1ga Team and Nigma Galaxy in the Esports World Cup Group B, initially scheduled for July 7 at 7:30AM ET. This market will resolve to "L1ga Team" if L1ga Team win the match against Nigma Galaxy. This market will resolve to "Nigma Galaxy" if Nigma Galaxy win the match against L1ga Team. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://www.dotabuff.com. However, if https://www.dotabuff.com has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Prediction markets and traditional sportsbooks price events differently. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets rely on trader consensus to discover price. This market reflects what thousands of independent traders believe will happen, often incorporating information faster than sportsbooks adjust their lines. Comparing this market's implied probability to a sportsbook's odds can reveal value opportunities, especially in esports where sportsbook coverage remains limited and prediction markets may have deeper liquidity.
Polymarket and Predict can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and fee structures, which naturally creates price variations. Polymarket and Predict may also have slightly different user bases with varying levels of esports expertise or access to real-time team information. Arbitrage traders typically exploit these gaps, but temporary spreads persist due to withdrawal delays, platform-specific trading costs, or regional user concentration. Monitoring both platforms helps you identify the most favorable entry and exit prices.
Team roster announcements, player injuries, or last-minute substitutions can shift trader sentiment significantly. Recent tournament results, scrim outcomes, and public statements from coaches or players may influence confidence in either side. Patch changes to Dota 2 that favor certain heroes or strategies could benefit one team over the other. Media coverage highlighting meta shifts or team momentum, as well as odds movements on related markets, often precede price moves here. Monitor esports news and team social channels for catalysts that could reshape expectations before the match begins.
