Predict
This prediction market group concerns the number of games played in a League of Legends best-of-five (BO5) match between White Dragons and Dominion Goblins in the LPLOL Playoffs. Markets exist for the total number of games played, specifically over/under thresholds of 3.5 and 4.5 games.
The event evaluates whether the specified League of Legends match exceeds designated map thresholds. Two separate criteria are applied: the first resolves if more than 3.5 maps are played, and the second resolves if more than 4.5 maps are played. Both criteria are assessed against the same match, originally scheduled for September 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM EDT. The event does not rely on any affiliation with the governing league, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners. The resolution hinges solely on the actual number of maps completed during the match.
This market refers to the LoL Semifinal 2 match between White Dragons and Dominion Goblins in the LPLOL Playoffs, initially scheduled for September 8, 2026 at 2:00 PM ET. This market will resolve to "White Dragons" if White Dragons win the match against Dominion Goblins. This market will resolve to "Dominion Goblins" if Dominion Goblins win the match against White Dragons. If the match is canceled (not played at all) or ends in a tie, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match is postponed, it must be rescheduled to a start time on or before September 22, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET (14 calendar days after the originally scheduled start of September 8, 2026 at 2:00 PM ET). If, by that deadline, the most recently announced rescheduled start time is on or before the deadline, this market resolves based on the result of the match as played. Otherwise, this market resolves 50-50, regardless of whether the match is subsequently played. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://gol.gg/esports/home. However, if https://gol.gg/esports/home has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.
Prediction market odds, like those found in this market, often reflect a more accurate forecast than traditional sportsbooks. This is because prediction markets incentivize participants to reveal their true beliefs, leading to a 'wisdom of the crowd' effect. Sportsbooks, on the other hand, may be influenced by factors like house bias or the need to balance their books. While sportsbooks set odds based on statistical models and expert analysis, this market allows anyone to participate and express their opinion, potentially uncovering information that isn't immediately apparent to bookmakers. The difference in odds can also depend on the liquidity and volume of each market.
Prices for the Dominion Goblins vs. White Dragons market can diverge between Kalshi and Predict due to several factors. Kalshi and Predict can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different traders with varying risk appetites and information advantages, leading to distinct market valuations. Trading volume also plays a role; lower volume on one platform can result in wider bid-ask spreads and more volatile price movements. Furthermore, subtle differences in the user interface or available trading tools on Kalshi versus Predict can influence how traders interpret and react to information, contributing to price discrepancies.
