PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi market contains a logical contradiction where all possible first-3-inning outcomes (Detroit win, Texas win, or tie) resolve identically to Yes, making the market unresolvable. Polymarket correctly structures a 5-inning outcome market with three distinct resolution paths (Detroit, Texas, Draw). The inning scope also diverges: Kalshi uses first 3 innings; Polymarket uses first 5 innings.Hero tip: Kalshi's market is unresolvable due to logical contradiction in its resolution criteria. Do not trade Kalshi. Polymarket offers properly structured 5-inning markets with clear outcome differentiation. Use Polymarket as the authoritative source. Verify game completion and final score at MLB.com official statistics within 24 hours of game end.

Critical divergence points:

  • Kalshi: Resolves on first 3 innings only. All three possible outcomes (Detroit win, Texas win, tie) are mapped to Yes, creating a logical contradiction. The market cannot distinguish between outcomes and is unresolvable.
  • Polymarket: Resolves on first 5 innings with three distinct outcomes: Detroit Tigers (if leading after 5), Texas Rangers (if leading after 5), or Draw (if tied after 5). Includes postponement continuation logic and 50-50 cancellation clause. Primary source is official MLB statistics or credible reporting consensus within 24 hours.
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Kalshi

Resolution is based on the score at the end of the first 3 innings of the Detroit vs Texas professional baseball game originally scheduled for Jul 2, 2026 at 8:05 PM EDT. The market resolves to Yes for whichever outcome matches the actual result: Detroit wins if they have more runs than Texas after 3 innings; Texas wins if they have more runs than Detroit after 3 innings; or Tie if both teams have equal runs after 3 innings. If the score is tied after 3 innings, the Tie outcome resolves to Yes and all team outcomes resolve to No. If the game is postponed or delayed, the market remains open and closes after the rescheduled game concludes, within two days of the original scheduled date.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets and sportsbooks price the same event through different mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and lock in margin; prediction markets let traders themselves determine prices through supply and demand. This market reflects what thousands of independent traders believe will happen, often incorporating faster-moving information than traditional books. Comparing this market's odds to your preferred sportsbook can reveal value—if one platform prices the Rangers significantly higher or lower than the book, that gap may signal an edge worth exploring before the game begins.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and fee structures, which naturally creates price variation. Polymarket and Kalshi may also have slightly different rule interpretations or settlement timing, leading traders to weight risk differently. Additionally, one platform may see larger recent volume or attention from a particular trading group, temporarily pushing odds out of sync. These gaps typically narrow as traders arbitrage between platforms, but they can persist if one venue has deeper liquidity or lower friction for a particular outcome.

Key catalysts include lineup announcements, starting pitcher confirmations, and late-breaking injury news for either team's top hitters or pitchers. Weather updates—wind direction, temperature, and humidity—can shift run-scoring expectations. Betting market movement at major sportsbooks often precedes prediction market shifts, so monitoring those lines may give early warning. Trading volume spikes on this market itself can signal new information or large traders entering positions. Finally, recent head-to-head performance, bullpen availability, and any last-minute roster moves will influence trader conviction as game time approaches.
