A BIG3 basketball matchup between Detroit Amps and Los Angeles Riot scheduled for July 12, 2026. The market resolves based on which team wins the game.
This market resolves to Yes if either Detroit Amps or Los Angeles Riot wins the BIG3 basketball game originally scheduled for July 12, 2026. If the game is postponed or delayed, the market remains open and closes after the rescheduled game concludes, provided the reschedule occurs within two weeks of the original date. Should the game be cancelled entirely or rescheduled beyond two weeks from the original date, the market resolves to a fair price for each team in accordance with established rules.
Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional sportsbook lines because they reflect real-time trader sentiment rather than bookmaker margins. On Kalshi, this market aggregates thousands of independent forecasters, which can lead to sharper or more reactive pricing than sportsbooks that adjust lines more slowly. Sportsbooks also build in a profit margin, whereas prediction markets are peer-to-peer. Comparing the two can reveal where public opinion and professional oddsmakers disagree on the likely outcome.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the collective belief in that outcome's probability, ranging from $0 to $1. As new trades execute, the price updates instantly, and the current bid-ask spread shows the tightest prices available. Traders profit by buying low and selling high, or by holding shares until resolution if they believe the market is mispriced.
This market resolves around Jul 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The winning outcome will be determined by the final result of the matchup. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. Early traders can exit before resolution by selling their shares at the current market price.
Key catalysts for this market include team roster announcements, injury reports, and recent performance trends. Coaching changes, trades, or significant player acquisitions can shift trader sentiment sharply. Public statements from team officials or analysts may also influence odds. Closer to the event date, weather conditions, travel schedules, and head-to-head matchup previews typically drive increased trading volume and price adjustments. Breaking news about either team's preparation or morale can trigger rapid repricing.
