Frequently asked questions

The dashboard for the first goal scorer market aggregates data across multiple platforms, showing real-time probabilities and volume for which team will score first. It tracks consensus views and fluctuations in trader sentiment, allowing users to see how expectations shift before the match. By monitoring this market, participants can gauge where the bulk of predictive capital is placed, helping them spot potential value shifts as new information emerges from team news, weather updates, or tactical changes.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through trader activity rather than traditional sportsbook lines, often reflecting sharper or more nuanced insights. Prediction market odds can diverge from sportsbook odds due to different participant dynamics, data inputs, and real-time reactions to breaking news. For example, injury announcements or lineup changes might shift prediction market probabilities more quickly than sportsbooks adjust their lines, creating potential arbitrage or value opportunities for traders watching both sides.

On Polymarket and Kalshi, prices can vary because each platform attracts different user bases and liquidity profiles. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. For instance, one venue might see heavier participation from soccer-specific traders, while the other could reflect broader speculative interest. These differences in crowd composition, along with varying liquidity depths, can lead to distinct probability assessments. Traders watching both platforms can exploit these gaps, as each market may react differently to new information such as coaching strategies or player fitness updates released close to kickoff.

Injuries, lineup announcements, weather conditions, and tactical updates can all shift this market close to kickoff. Key moments like a star player being ruled out or a last-minute formation change may cause rapid probability swings, especially on platforms with lighter liquidity. Traders should also watch for pre-match betting trends on sportsbooks, as large moves there often precede shifts in prediction market pricing. Volume of $113,077 and 24-hour volume of $109,602 can indicate how sensitive the market is to new information.
