This market focuses on predicting which team will lead at the end of the third quarter in an upcoming college football game between Delaware and Virginia. It offers three possible outcomes based on the scoring dynamics during that specific quarter of play.
The market resolves based on which team scores more points in the third quarter of the Delaware vs Virginia college football game scheduled for September 26, 2026. If Virginia scores more points during that quarter, the 'Virginia wins 3rd Quarter' market resolves to Yes. If Delaware scores more points, the 'Delaware wins 3rd Quarter' market resolves to Yes. If both teams score the same number of points, the 'Tie 3rd Quarter' market resolves to Yes. For all markets, only points scored during the third quarter count toward resolution. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from those offered by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set initial lines to balance their risk, while this market allows traders to dynamically adjust probabilities based on new information and their own analysis. If a significant amount of money is wagered on one outcome, the odds will shift accordingly. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before major events or when new information becomes available, as this market incorporates a broader range of perspectives than a traditional sportsbook.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome – in this case, Delaware winning the 3rd quarter or Virginia winning the 3rd quarter. The price of each contract reflects the market’s probability of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the prices converge to reflect the collective belief of the market participants. The closer we get to the event, the more the prices will likely move, responding to any new information or shifts in sentiment.
This market resolves around Sep 27, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The team that has the higher score at the end of the 3rd quarter will be declared the winner for the purposes of this market. Official game statistics will be used to determine the final score and thus the winning team. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or settle their losing positions based on the final result.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Delaware or Virginia would likely cause price fluctuations. Unexpected changes in team strategy or coaching decisions could also influence trader sentiment. Furthermore, performance in previous games, particularly recent ones, and any public statements from key players or coaches could all contribute to movement in the Delaware vs Virginia 3rd quarter market. General public perception and betting trends in traditional sportsbooks may also play a role.
