This event group covers the exact final score of an MLS match between D.C. United SC and Toronto FC scheduled for July 25, 2026 at 7:30 PM ET. Polymarket offers 18 discrete exact-score outcomes plus an 'Any Other Score' catch-all, while Kalshi provides six over/under total-goals markets. Both platforms measure the same underlying event (90 minutes plus stoppage time, excluding extra time and penalties) but use fundamentally different market structures.
In the upcoming MLS game between D.C. United SC and Toronto FC, scheduled for July 25, 2026 at 7:30 PM ET: This market will resolve based on the final score of the D.C. United SC vs. Toronto FC match originally scheduled for July 25, 2026 at 7:30 PM ET, considering only the result at the end of 90 minutes of regulation plus stoppage time; extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. If the actual score is not one of the explicitly listed outcomes, the market resolves to "Any Other Score." If the match is postponed, the market will remain open until it is completed; if it is canceled with no make-up game, the market resolves to "0-0." The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome.
Resolution is based on the total combined goals scored by DC United and Toronto in their MLS match scheduled for July 25, 2026, measured after 90 minutes plus stoppage time (excluding extra time and penalties). Each market outcome resolves to Yes if the combined goal total exceeds the specified threshold for that market. The evaluation period is strictly the regulation 90 minutes plus any stoppage time added by the referee; any goals scored in extra time or penalty shootouts are excluded from the calculation.
Prediction markets and traditional sportsbooks price outcomes differently because they operate under distinct incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets rely on trader consensus to discover prices. On this market, odds reflect what thousands of independent participants believe will happen, often incorporating real-time information faster than sportsbooks adjust. Comparing the two can reveal value: if prediction market odds diverge significantly from sportsbook spreads, it may signal where one venue underestimates or overestimates a particular scoreline.
Team news—injuries to key players, lineup announcements, or tactical shifts—typically triggers sharp price movement in exact score markets. Recent form, head-to-head history, and weather conditions at kickoff can also shift trader sentiment. Major betting syndicates or informed groups entering large positions may signal conviction in a particular scoreline, prompting others to follow. As match day approaches, real-time updates on player availability and pre-game commentary from analysts often drive late volatility. Close to kickoff, final odds tend to stabilize as the market prices in all available information.
