This market tracks the outcome of the second set in the professional tennis quarterfinal match between Daniel Altmaier and Daniil Medvedev at the 2026 ATP Halle tournament on June 19. The winner of set 2 determines the market resolution.
The market resolves to Yes for whichever player wins set 2 of the match. If the match does not occur before play begins due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation, the market resolves to a fair price. If postponed or delayed, the market remains open until the rescheduled match concludes within two weeks. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play resolve accordingly; those that cannot are settled at Fair Market Price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different pricing mechanisms and trader bases. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and profit margins, while prediction markets like this one aggregate trader beliefs through continuous price discovery. This market's odds may lead or lag sportsbook lines depending on information flow and trader conviction. Comparing the two can reveal whether professional bettors and retail traders are aligned on the likely set winner, offering perspective on consensus strength.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Prices fluctuate in real time as new information emerges—such as player form, court conditions, or early-set performance—and traders adjust their positions accordingly. The contract price directly reflects the implied probability traders assign to each player winning Set 2, making the market a live aggregation of collective expectation.
This market resolves around Jun 19, 2026, once the Altmaier vs Medvedev match progresses to completion and the Set 2 result is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which player wins the second set according to official tournament records and reliable sports reporting. Your position will settle based on the confirmed set winner at that time.
Several factors could shift odds before resolution: early-set performance and momentum swings during actual play, player injuries or fatigue emerging mid-match, court or weather conditions affecting play style, and real-time commentary or analysis from credible sources. If one player breaks serve early or demonstrates unexpected form, traders will reprice the contract accordingly. Breaking news about either player's physical condition or tactical adjustments could also trigger significant price movement as the market incorporates fresh information.
