Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Kalshi, often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the differing incentives and information sources of participants. Sportsbooks set lines to balance their risk and ensure profit, while prediction markets reflect the aggregated beliefs of a diverse group of traders. This market, for example, may show a different probability for a Santos win than a typical sportsbook. Prediction markets can sometimes be more accurate, particularly when incorporating information not readily available to bookmakers. However, lower volume in prediction markets can also lead to greater price volatility compared to more liquid sportsbook markets.
