Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and extract margin, while prediction markets aggregate trader beliefs through continuous price discovery. This market may show materially different probabilities than traditional sports betting sites, particularly if informed traders spot value or if public sentiment skews differently on decentralized venues. Comparing both sources can reveal where consensus breaks down.
On Polymarket, traders set the odds by buying and selling shares representing each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the collective assessment of that outcome's likelihood, with supply and demand continuously adjusting the probability. As more capital flows into one outcome, its price rises and others fall, creating a dynamic equilibrium. You can enter or exit positions at any time before the market closes, with your execution price determined by the order book at that moment.
This market resolves around Jul 18, 2026, once the second half result of the match is finalized and verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome will reflect what actually occurred during the second half—whether one team won, the teams drew, or another specified result took place. Resolution typically follows official match records and reporting from recognized sports authorities, ensuring accuracy and fairness for all traders.
Team news, injury updates, and lineup announcements can shift trader sentiment significantly before kickoff. Early first-half momentum and scoreline may also influence second-half expectations, as traders reassess the likelihood of each outcome based on live match dynamics. Weather conditions, referee assignments, and recent form trends could sway positioning as well. Major betting syndicates or informed traders entering the market can also trigger sharp price moves, reflecting new information or conviction about the probable result.
