This market refers to the volleyball match between Cuba and Argentina in the FIVB Nations League, originally scheduled for July 17 at 12:00AM ET. This market will resolve to "Cuba" if Cuba wins the match. It will resolve to "Argentina" if Argentina wins the match. If a team withdraws, forfeits, is defaulted, or is disqualified after the match begins, this market will resolve in favor of the team officially credited with the win. If the match begins but is not completed and no winner is officially declared, this market will resolve 50-50. If the match does not begin for any reason — including cancellation, pre-match withdrawal, walkover, or forfeit before play begins — or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without play beginning, this market will resolve 50-50. Resolution will be based on official FIVB results.

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets let traders freely price outcomes based on their beliefs. This market aggregates the collective judgment of many independent traders rather than a single bookmaker's view. Over time, prediction markets have proven competitive with or more accurate than traditional sportsbooks on major sporting events, though both can shift rapidly as new information emerges.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that calculates odds based on the ratio of shares held in each outcome pool. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders buy shares representing their prediction, and the price adjusts dynamically as the pool composition changes. The implied probability of each outcome is derived from the current share distribution. Polymarket's transparent, on-chain mechanism means you can see the exact liquidity available and execute trades instantly at the displayed price.
This market resolves around Jul 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution hinges on the final result of the matchup as documented by authoritative sports sources. Until that point, traders can continue to buy and sell shares as odds fluctuate. Once the event concludes and the outcome is established, the market will settle and shares will be redeemed according to the result.
Key catalysts include team roster announcements, recent performance trends, head-to-head historical records, and any injury or lineup changes announced before kickoff. Media coverage and expert analysis often influence trader sentiment, as do betting patterns from professional syndicates. Weather conditions, venue factors, and late-breaking news about player availability can trigger sharp price swings. As the event date approaches, odds typically tighten and volatility may increase as traders refine their positions based on the latest information.
