This event group covers the first team to score in the Côte d'Ivoire vs. Norway FIFA World Cup match scheduled for June 30, 2026. The markets track which team (if any) records the opening goal, with different platforms applying different time windows and outcome structures.
In the upcoming match between Côte d'Ivoire and Norway, scheduled for June 30, 2026 at 1:00 PM ET: This market will resolve to "Côte d'Ivoire" if Côte d'Ivoire are the first to score within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. This market will resolve to "Norway" if Norway are the first to score within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. If neither team scores within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time, this market will resolve "Neither". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve to "Neither". This market refers only to the outcome within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. Extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome.
Resolution is determined by which team records the first goal during the complete match duration, encompassing regulation time, stoppage time, and any extra time periods. The first goal scorer determines the winning outcome—if Ivory Coast scores first, that market resolves Yes; if Norway scores first, that market resolves Yes; if neither team scores throughout the entire match, the No Goal outcome resolves Yes. In the event the first goal is an own goal, resolution is based on the team to which the goal is officially awarded rather than the team that deflected the ball. Only one outcome will resolve affirmatively.
Prediction markets like Polymarket and Kalshi derive odds directly from trader supply and demand, whereas traditional sportsbooks set lines based on internal models and risk management. Prediction market prices often reflect real-time sentiment shifts and can move faster than sportsbook lines, especially as new information emerges. However, sportsbooks typically offer tighter spreads and higher liquidity. For this event, comparing this market's implied probability to major sportsbook offerings can reveal whether traders are pricing in factors the books may have overlooked.
Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform operates under distinct market-making rules, fee structures, and user bases, which can create temporary pricing gaps. Polymarket and Kalshi may also attract different trader demographics—some favoring one venue's interface or regulatory framework. Order flow timing and liquidity depth vary between exchanges, so a large trade on one platform may not instantly arbitrage the other. These differences typically narrow as sophisticated traders exploit spreads, but they can persist if transaction costs or platform friction outweigh the profit opportunity.
Team news—injuries to key strikers, lineup changes, or tactical shifts—can significantly shift odds in either direction. Pre-match analysis from credible sports commentators and recent form data often trigger repricing. Weather conditions at kickoff, referee assignments, and historical head-to-head patterns may also influence trader positioning. As the match approaches, any official roster updates or last-minute roster announcements could spark volatility. During the game itself, early possession and shot attempts will likely drive sharp intraday moves on this market.
