Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by trader consensus and real-money skin-in-the-game dynamics. Sportsbooks may adjust faster for sharp money or public bias, whereas prediction markets can incorporate longer-term information and niche insights. Comparing the two can reveal where casual bettors or professional traders see hidden value in this market's outcome probabilities.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker (AMM) model where traders deposit collateral and purchase shares of specific exact-score outcomes. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome share reflects the ratio of liquidity allocated to that result relative to all other possible scores. As traders buy shares of a particular scoreline, its price rises, and selling pressure lowers it. This continuous repricing mechanism ensures the market remains liquid and responsive to new information or shifting expectations about how the match will unfold.
This market resolves around Jun 30, 2026, once the match between Côte d'Ivoire and Norway concludes and the final score is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the exact scoreline at the end of regular time; the winning shares are those corresponding to the official final result. Traders holding shares in the correct exact score receive their payout, while all other positions expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the match's completion.
Key catalysts include team news such as injuries to star players, lineup announcements, or tactical shifts that alter scoring expectations. Pre-match analysis, expert predictions, and betting syndicate activity can shift trader sentiment significantly. Weather conditions on match day, venue factors, and head-to-head historical trends may also influence how traders price individual scorelines. As kickoff approaches, late-breaking developments—such as unexpected absences or formation changes—often trigger sharp repricing. Live updates during the match itself will drive final adjustments until the whistle.
