Frequently asked questions

On sportsbooks, bookmakers set their lines based on their own risk models and margins, often favoring the more popular side to balance action. In contrast, this market reflects the collective wisdom of traders who buy and sell based on their own research and expectations. Because there’s no built-in house edge, prices can diverge noticeably from traditional sportsbook odds, especially if sharp traders identify mispricings or new information emerges that shifts sentiment.

On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, traders manually place bets which directly sets the market price through supply and demand dynamics. The current probability reflects the ratio of ‘yes’ to ‘no’ shares outstanding. As new data emerges — such as injury reports or recent form — participants adjust their positions, causing the price to move. The resulting odds capture the real-time sentiment of active participants without any centralized adjustment.

This market resolves around Aug 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the match result is verifiable from credible public reporting. The first team to find the net during the game determines the final settlement, and the market will close immediately after the first goal is officially recorded.

Key matchups, player injuries, and coaching decisions often shift expectations about who will score first. A high-profile performance from a forward on either side, or a suspension to a key attacking player, could cause rapid re-pricing. Additionally, any last-minute tactical changes disclosed in pre-game analysis may influence trader sentiment. As Aug 4, 2026 approaches, the market will react to any publicly reported practice notes or media commentary that hints at starting lineups or strategic priorities.
