Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional sportsbook odds because they reflect real-time trader consensus rather than fixed lines set by oddsmakers. On Polymarket, prices adjust continuously as new information arrives, whereas sportsbooks may lag or apply wider margins. This market aggregates thousands of independent traders' views on which team scores first, potentially offering sharper pricing than a single bookmaker's estimate. Comparing this market's implied probability to major sportsbooks can reveal value opportunities, though both reflect genuine uncertainty about the outcome.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the collective belief of all traders; as more capital flows toward one outcome, its price rises and the competing outcome's price falls. Prices range from near zero to one dollar, with the implied probability derived directly from the current share price. This continuous pricing model ensures transparent, real-time discovery of fair value for predicting which team scores first.

This market resolves around Jul 25, 2026, once the CSD Municipal versus CSD Mixco match concludes and the first goal is verified. The outcome is confirmed when credible public sources—such as official match records or major sports news outlets—report which team scored first. If the match ends in a 0–0 draw, this market would resolve to no goal, depending on the specific outcome options available. Early resolution may occur if one team is eliminated or the fixture is cancelled before kickoff.

Key catalysts include team news such as injury announcements, lineup changes, or tactical shifts that affect offensive capability. Pre-match analysis, recent form, and head-to-head records can shift trader sentiment as the fixture approaches. Weather conditions, venue factors, and referee assignments may also influence expectations about early scoring. As kickoff nears, live betting activity and late-breaking updates often trigger sharp price movements. Close to Jul 25, 2026, final team confirmations and any last-minute roster adjustments typically drive the most volatile trading.
