Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a ‘vig’ or commission into their odds, representing their profit margin, and may be influenced by public betting patterns. This market, however, is driven by individuals directly forecasting the outcome, potentially leading to odds that more accurately reflect the true probabilities, as perceived by informed traders. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information sources and risk assessments, but often prediction markets are more efficient at price discovery.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether CSD Mixco or Aurora FC will score first. As more shares are purchased for a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share represents the implied probability of that outcome occurring. The market dynamically adjusts as new information becomes available and traders update their forecasts, creating a real-time assessment of the likely first goalscorer.

This market resolves around Sep 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on which team officially scores the first goal in the CSD Mixco vs. Aurora FC match, as recorded by official match statistics. Any potential disputes will be assessed based on the official match report and widely available sports news sources. The outcome will be determined by the official result of the game, regardless of pre-match expectations or in-game events beyond the first goal.

Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either CSD Mixco or Aurora FC would likely have a significant impact. Changes in team form, recent match results, or tactical adjustments announced by the managers could also sway trader sentiment. Even weather conditions on match day could play a role, particularly if they favor one team’s playing style. Any significant public discussion or analysis of the match could also drive increased volume and price movement.
