Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different pricing mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their books and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets derive prices from continuous trading between participants who profit by predicting accurately. This market aggregates the beliefs of traders betting real money on the second-half outcome, which can sometimes offer sharper or more efficient pricing than traditional sportsbooks. Comparing the two can reveal where market participants see value relative to conventional betting lines.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader orders into real-time odds. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Participants buy and sell shares representing each possible outcome, and the price of each share reflects the market's collective assessment of its probability. As more traders buy or sell a particular outcome, its price adjusts accordingly. This continuous price discovery mechanism ensures that odds remain responsive to new information and trading activity throughout the event window.
This market resolves around Jul 23, 2026, once the second half of the match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which team scores more goals during the second half, or whether the half ends in a draw. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. Resolution timing depends on the match schedule and official confirmation of the final score.
Several factors can shift odds in this market before resolution. Team news such as injuries, substitutions, or tactical changes announced before kickoff will influence trader positioning. First-half performance is a major catalyst—if one team dominates early, second-half odds will adjust to reflect momentum and fatigue patterns. Weather conditions, referee decisions, and red cards during the first half can also reshape expectations for the second-half outcome. Real-time goals and momentum swings during the match itself will drive the most dramatic price movements as traders update their forecasts.
