A European team and a South American team compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with one potentially advancing further than the other, or both being eliminated at the same stage.
Resolution is based on the furthest stage each team advances to in the 2026 Men's FIFA World Cup, with applicable stages ranging from Group Stage through winning the Final. If Croatia advances to a further stage than Uruguay, that market resolves Yes; if Uruguay advances further, its corresponding market resolves Yes; if both teams reach the same furthest stage, the "Eliminated same stage" market resolves Yes. For teams losing in the Semifinals, their furthest stage is considered the Semifinals regardless of third-place match results. If a team withdraws, forfeits, or is disqualified, their furthest stage is determined by the last stage they successfully completed—for example, a team withdrawing after winning a Round of 32 match has the Round of 16 as their furthest stage.
Prediction market odds on Kalshi often diverge from traditional sportsbook lines because they reflect real-time trader positioning rather than bookmaker risk management. Sportsbooks adjust odds to balance liability and lock in margin, while prediction markets aggregate distributed beliefs from many participants with direct financial stakes. For Croatia vs Uruguay, comparing Kalshi implied probabilities to major sportsbook spreads can reveal whether the crowd is more or less confident than professional oddsmakers. These differences highlight where retail and institutional traders see value relative to consensus betting lines.

Once the match is played and the advancing team is confirmed, the market settles according to the predetermined resolution criteria, paying out winning positions and closing the contract.
Key catalysts include team injury announcements, lineup confirmations, and recent form in qualifying or earlier tournament rounds. Tactical shifts, coaching changes, or public statements from players and managers can shift trader sentiment. Weather conditions on match day and venue factors may influence perceived advantage.
