Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and risk appetites, leading to natural price variation. Kalshi and Polymarket also operate under distinct regulatory frameworks and contract specifications, which can influence how traders interpret and price the same event. Arbitrage opportunities between the two platforms may persist until traders exploit the spread, gradually aligning prices toward consensus.
Team news—injuries to key forwards, goalkeeper availability, or tactical shifts—can significantly reprrice this market. Pre-match analysis, recent form, and head-to-head scoring patterns influence trader positioning. Live match conditions, including early possession dominance, corner kicks, and near-misses, will drive sharp price movement once play begins. Weather, pitch conditions, and referee assignments may also subtly shift expectations about early scoring likelihood.
