Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from traditional sportsbook odds due to varying levels of information and incentives. Sportsbooks incorporate a profit margin into their odds, while this market allows traders to directly assess the probability of an event. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by simultaneously betting on both platforms. However, it’s important to remember that prediction markets and sportsbooks have different user bases and information sources, leading to potentially divergent viewpoints.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the event. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is driven by supply and demand; increased buying pressure raises the price, while increased selling pressure lowers it, ultimately determining the odds for each team to score first.
This market resolves around Sep 15, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on official match data and records, ensuring a transparent and accurate determination of the result. Traders will be able to claim their winnings once the resolution is finalized on Polymarket.
