Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets are driven by trader consensus and real-money conviction. This market aggregates the views of many independent forecasters rather than a single oddsmaker, sometimes surfacing edges that sportsbooks have not yet priced in. Comparing the two can reveal where public opinion and professional bookmakers disagree on the likely second half outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader buy and sell orders into real-time probabilities. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome has a price between 0 and 1 (or 0–100 cents), reflecting the collective belief in that result. As traders buy shares in one outcome, its price rises and the competing outcomes fall, creating a self-balancing system. The current price directly translates to an implied probability, so you can instantly see what the market believes about the second half result.
This market resolves around Jul 29, 2026, once the match concludes and the second half result is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the final score and result during the second half period only, independent of first half events. Resolution occurs after official confirmation, ensuring all traders have access to the same authoritative information before payouts are finalized.
Key catalysts include team news such as injuries, lineup changes, or tactical shifts announced before kickoff. Early second half momentum—goals, red cards, or missed penalties—typically triggers sharp repricing as traders update their forecasts based on live action. Weather conditions, crowd energy, and substitution patterns can also influence expectations. Additionally, any official statements from either team or league communications may shift sentiment if they affect perceived competitive balance or player availability during the second half.
