This event group covers a Counter-Strike 2 Best-of-3 match between Yawara Esports and Sharks in the RES Showdown South America Playoffs Quarterfinal, scheduled for July 9, 2026 at 4:00 PM EDT. Markets span individual map winners (Map 1, Map 2), overall match winner, total maps played, and map handicap outcomes.
This market refers to the Counter-Strike Quarterfinal 4 match between Yawara Esports and Sharks in the RES Showdown South America Playoffs, initially scheduled for July 9 at 4:00PM ET. This market will resolve to "Yawara Esports" if Yawara Esports win the match against Sharks. This market will resolve to "Sharks" if Sharks win the match against Yawara Esports. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://hltv.org. However, if https://hltv.org has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.
Resolution is determined by the winner of the RES Showdown South America 2026: Sharks vs. Yawara Esports CS2 match scheduled for July 9, 2026 at 4:00 PM EDT. The market resolves to Yes for whichever team wins the match. If the match does not occur as scheduled, is postponed, cancelled, or results in a draw or no-contest outcome, resolution will be determined by official tournament records and announcements from the event organizers.
Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform uses distinct contract designs and trader bases. Kalshi's top outcome focuses on a binary match winner, while Polymarket's leading contract applies a map handicap, fundamentally altering the probability calculation. Differences in platform fees, user demographics, and order-book depth also drive price variation. Arbitrage opportunities can emerge when one venue prices the same underlying event differently, though transaction costs and settlement risk typically prevent perfect convergence. Monitoring both venues reveals how market structure shapes trader behavior.
Key catalysts include roster changes, recent map performance data, and head-to-head records between these teams. Injury or stand-in announcements, scrim results, and public statements from players or coaches can shift trader positioning. Meta shifts in Counter-Strike strategy or map pool updates may also influence expectations. As the match date approaches, late-breaking news—such as technical issues or venue changes—could trigger volatility. Monitor team social media and esports news outlets for developments that could alter the competitive balance.
