This market refers to the Counter-Strike match between Prestige Academy and Västerås in the United21 Group B, initially scheduled for July 4 at 6:30AM ET. This market will resolve to "Prestige Academy" if Prestige Academy win the match against Västerås. This market will resolve to "Västerås" if Västerås win the match against Prestige Academy. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://hltv.org. However, if https://hltv.org has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different pricing mechanisms. Sportsbooks set lines to balance liability and profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are priced by traders seeking profit through accurate forecasting. Prediction markets can sometimes offer sharper, more efficient pricing because traders have direct financial incentive to correct mispricings. However, sportsbooks may occasionally offer better value depending on their risk management and market conditions. Comparing both sources helps bettors identify which venue offers the most attractive terms for their thesis.
On Polymarket, traders set prices through an automated market maker mechanism, where buying and selling pressure directly moves the odds. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The top outcome currently reflects strong consensus, with the market implying a high probability for one side. As new information surfaces—team roster changes, recent form, or injury reports—traders adjust positions, shifting prices in real time. Liquidity and trading volume influence how quickly prices respond to news. This continuous repricing mechanism ensures the market stays responsive to evolving conditions leading up to the match.
This market resolves around Jul 4, 2026, once the match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome is determined by the actual performance of both teams across the best-of-three format, with the winner confirmed through official tournament records or broadcast documentation. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the final map's completion, allowing traders to settle positions promptly. Until that point, prices may fluctuate based on live match developments, team momentum, and emerging tactical adjustments.
Several catalysts could shift prices before the match concludes. Roster announcements or unexpected player absences would immediately reshape expectations. Live map results during the best-of-three will drive the most dramatic moves, as each map win or loss updates win probability for the overall series. Pre-match analysis from respected esports commentators or team statements about preparation and strategy may also influence trader sentiment. Economic updates—such as team funding or sponsorship news—could subtly affect perceived team stability. Real-time in-game performance, including individual player standout moments, often triggers sharp repricing as the match unfolds.
