PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi uses a binary Yes/No confirmation model (either team winning triggers Yes), while Polymarket uses a categorical team-name resolution model. Kalshi does not specify a resolution source or address cancellations, ties, or delays; Polymarket provides explicit HLTV.org sourcing, a 2-hour fallback window, and comprehensive edge-case handling including 7-day delay thresholds and forfeit/walkover rules.Hero tip: Adopt Polymarket's resolution framework as the primary standard for this event group. Verify match outcome via HLTV.org within 2 hours of match conclusion. If HLTV.org is unavailable, use consensus from credible esports reporting (ESIC, team official channels, broadcast archives) and video evidence. For Kalshi settlement, confirm that the match was completed and a winner determined; if the match is canceled, delayed beyond 7 days, or ends in a pre-match forfeit, treat as unresolvable under Kalshi's binary model and escalate to PredictionHero support.

Critical divergence points:

  • Kalshi: Binary confirmation model: resolves to Yes if ALKA wins the match OR if paiN Academy wins the match. No explicit resolution source specified. No handling of cancellations, ties, delays, or forfeits documented. Quote: 'If ALKA wins the CCT South America Series 3 2026: ALKA vs. paiN Academy CS2 match... then the market resolves to Yes. If paiN Academy wins... then the market resolves to Yes.'
  • Polymarket: Categorical team-name resolution: resolves to 'paiN Academy' if paiN Academy wins, or 'ALKA' if ALKA wins. Resolves 50-50 on cancellation, tie, delay beyond 7 days without completion, pre-match forfeit, disqualification, or walkover. Primary source is HLTV.org; 2-hour fallback to credible reporting and video evidence. Quote: 'This market will resolve to 50-50 if the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined.'
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Polymarket

This market refers to the Counter-Strike Round 1 match between paiN Academy and ALKA in the CCT South America Series 3 Group Stage, initially scheduled for June 27 at 3:00PM ET. This market will resolve to "paiN Academy" if paiN Academy win the match against ALKA. This market will resolve to "ALKA" if ALKA win the match against paiN Academy. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://hltv.org. However, if https://hltv.org has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Kalshi

Resolution is determined by the outcome of the CCT South America Series 3 2026 CS2 match between ALKA and paiN Academy scheduled for June 27, 2026 at 3:00 PM EDT. The market resolves to Yes for whichever team wins the match.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets and traditional sportsbooks price outcomes through different mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and extract margin, while prediction markets rely on trader consensus—buy and sell pressure from participants wagering real capital. This market's odds reflect live trader conviction rather than a bookmaker's risk management. Prediction market prices often diverge from sportsbook lines because they aggregate dispersed information and adjust continuously as new data emerges. For esports events like this one, prediction markets can be especially responsive to roster changes, recent form, and community sentiment that sportsbooks may lag in pricing.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform operates under distinct rule sets, user bases, and liquidity profiles. Polymarket and Kalshi may attract different trader demographics—some preferring one interface, fee structure, or regulatory framework over the other. Timing differences in order flow, regional user activity, and platform-specific incentives can cause temporary price divergence. Additionally, each platform's approach to market creation and settlement communication may influence how traders interpret and price the same underlying event. These gaps typically narrow as arbitrageurs exploit mispricings, but they persist when liquidity is thin or information asymmetries favor one venue.

Key catalysts include roster announcements or player substitutions for either team, recent tournament results and head-to-head records, and community sentiment shifts on social media and esports forums. Map pool selections and bans can significantly influence perceived matchup strength, as can injury or availability updates for key players. Betting volume spikes on other platforms or sportsbooks may signal sharp money entering the market. Pre-match interviews, team statements, and analyst commentary closer to the event date often drive repricing. Monitor official CCT South America Series channels and team social accounts for any last-minute developments that could shift trader expectations.
