PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi provides incomplete resolution logic with no edge-case handling or source specification, while Polymarket defines comprehensive criteria including forfeit, cancellation, and delay thresholds. Both reference the same underlying match but with asymmetric clarity.Hero tip: Use Polymarket's resolution rules as the authoritative framework. Monitor HLTV.org for official results. If the match is canceled, delayed beyond 7 days without play, or ends in forfeit/disqualification, Polymarket markets will resolve 50-50. For series winner and map-specific markets, only completed matches with a clear winner count toward resolution.

Critical divergence points:

  • Kalshi: Kalshi states: 'If Spirit Academy wins... then the market resolves to Yes' and 'If Omega wins... then the market resolves to Yes.' This is tautological and provides no actual resolution criteria, edge-case handling, source specification, or distinction between valid and invalid match outcomes (forfeits, cancellations, delays).
  • Polymarket: Polymarket specifies: Series resolves to team name if that team wins the BO3. Cancellations, ties, delays beyond 7 days without play, or forfeits/disqualifications resolve 50-50. Incomplete matches with forfeit/walkover resolve to the winning team. Primary source is HLTV.org; credible reporting used if results not published within 2 hours. Map-specific markets follow similar logic but resolve 50-50 if the map is not completed.
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Polymarket

This market refers to the Counter-Strike match between Omega and Spirit Academy in the GLuck Yungstar Closed Qualifier: Series #2 Group A, initially scheduled for June 26 at 4:00AM ET. This market will resolve to "Omega" if Omega win the match against Spirit Academy. This market will resolve to "Spirit Academy" if Spirit Academy win the match against Omega. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://hltv.org. However, if https://hltv.org has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets like Polymarket and Kalshi differ from traditional sportsbooks in that traders set odds through supply and demand rather than oddsmakers. Sportsbooks build in margins and manage liability; prediction markets aggregate distributed beliefs with real money at stake. For esports events like this one, prediction markets often react faster to roster changes, recent form, and community intel because participants trade continuously. Comparing this market's implied odds to major sportsbook lines can reveal value, though liquidity and settlement certainty vary between venues.

Key catalysts include roster announcements or player substitutions, recent tournament results and head-to-head records, and map pool updates or patch changes affecting Counter-Strike strategy. Injury or availability news, team morale indicators from social media or interviews, and betting action on other platforms can shift sentiment rapidly. Scrim results or leaked practice footage sometimes leak before the match, moving odds sharply. Monitor community Discord channels and esports news outlets for breaking updates; in esports, information asymmetry often creates trading opportunities in the hours before match start.
