PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi's market logic is internally contradictory (both outcomes resolve to Yes), while Polymarket provides comprehensive edge-case handling. The two platforms have fundamentally incompatible resolution frameworks for the same underlying event.Hero tip: Do not trade Kalshi's market until the Yes/No split is clarified. Use Polymarket's rules as the reference standard: match must complete with a clear winner (not forfeit/walkover pre-match, not canceled, not delayed >7 days). If the match begins but is incomplete and one team wins via opponent forfeiture mid-series, that team wins; otherwise 50-50.

Critical divergence points:

  • Kalshi: Market states 'If SHISHKA wins...then resolves to Yes' AND 'If JustPlayers wins...then resolves to Yes.' This creates a logical impossibility: both outcomes cannot resolve to the same result. No explicit handling of cancellations, ties, forfeits, or delays. Scope is unclear: does it refer to the single BO3 match or the entire qualifier series?
  • Polymarket: Provides four distinct markets (Series Winner, Map 1 Winner, Map 2 Winner, Total Maps O/U 2.5) with explicit edge-case rules. Series Winner resolves to the winning team if match completes normally, 50-50 if canceled/tied/delayed >7 days/pre-match forfeit, or to the winning team if mid-series forfeit occurs. Maps are counted even if forfeited, provided match is completed. Source: HLTV.org with 2-hour fallback to credible reporting.
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Polymarket

This market refers to the Counter-Strike match between Just Players and SHISHKA in the GLuck Yungstar Closed Qualifier: Series #2 Group A, initially scheduled for June 26 at 7:00AM ET. This market will resolve to "Just Players" if Just Players win the match against SHISHKA. This market will resolve to "SHISHKA" if SHISHKA win the match against Just Players. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://hltv.org. However, if https://hltv.org has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets like those tracked here operate on crowd-sourced consensus pricing, where traders stake capital on outcomes rather than accepting fixed odds set by a bookmaker. This mechanism often reflects sharper, more dynamic probability estimates than traditional sportsbooks, especially for niche esports events. However, sportsbook odds may incorporate additional factors such as injury reports, lineup changes, or promotional adjustments. For this market, comparing the prediction market consensus to major esports betting sites can reveal whether one side is undervalued or overvalued relative to professional oddsmakers.

On Polymarket, traders set odds through an automated market maker, while Kalshi uses a different matching engine and user base. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Differences in liquidity, user demographics, and fee structures can cause the two platforms to price the same event differently. Additionally, each platform may attract traders with distinct information sets or risk tolerances, leading to temporary arbitrage opportunities. Monitoring both venues helps identify which side of this market may be mispriced relative to the other.

Key catalysts include roster announcements or player substitutions, recent tournament performance by either team, and any public statements about preparation or strategy. Map bans and picks, revealed shortly before the series, often shift odds as traders reassess matchup dynamics. Live match updates—round wins, economy management, and momentum swings—will drive intraday volatility. Additionally, news of injuries, technical issues, or scheduling changes could trigger repricing as new information reaches the market.
