This market refers to the Counter-Strike Round of 16 match between Eternal Fire and Brute in the European Pro League Series 8 Playoffs, initially scheduled for July 18 at 4:00AM ET. This market will resolve to "Eternal Fire" if Eternal Fire win the match against Brute. This market will resolve to "Brute" if Brute win the match against Eternal Fire. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://hltv.org. However, if https://hltv.org has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets aggregate the beliefs of traders risking real capital on outcomes. For esports matchups like this one, prediction markets can sometimes price outcomes differently than bookmakers, especially if one venue has deeper liquidity or attracts traders with stronger information about team form and meta shifts. Comparing the two can reveal where consensus is strongest.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that adjusts odds continuously as traders buy and sell outcome shares. The price of each outcome reflects the cumulative trades placed by the community, with larger trades moving the odds more sharply than smaller ones. As the match approaches, you'll see the price converge toward the true probability if new information arrives, or remain stable if conviction holds steady. The spread between bid and ask prices tightens during peak trading hours, affecting how efficiently you can enter or exit a position.
This market resolves around Jul 18, 2026, once the match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the final score of the best-of-three series, with the winner confirmed through official tournament records and broadcast coverage. No ambiguity typically surrounds esports match results, as they are recorded in real time and immediately available to the community. Resolution usually occurs within hours of the final game.
Team roster changes, player substitutions, or injury announcements can shift odds significantly if either squad announces lineup adjustments before the match. Recent tournament results and head-to-head records often trigger repricing as traders update their models. Meta shifts in the game itself—new weapon balance patches or map changes—can favor one team's playstyle over the other. Analyst commentary and community sentiment on social media may also influence trader behavior. Odds typically tighten as match time approaches and uncertainty resolves.
