Description

This market refers to the Counter-Strike Upper bracket round 1 match between EMPIRE and Team Aether in the ESL Challenger League North America Cup #4 Playoffs, initially scheduled for April 26 at 9:00PM ET. This market will resolve to "EMPIRE" if EMPIRE win the match against Team Aether. This market will resolve to "Team Aether" if Team Aether win the match against EMPIRE. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://hltv.org. However, if https://hltv.org has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Unified Resolution Criteria (Consistent across platforms)

Polymarket and Kalshi both resolve the match outcome and all derivative markets (map winners, statistics, series metrics) using identical logic: official HLTV.org data, 7-day delay threshold, 50-50 for cancellations/forfeits/unplayed maps, and credible consensus fallback.

Primary resolution logic:

HLTV.org (official match results); credible consensus reporting and video evidence if HLTV does not publish final results within 2 hours of event conclusion.

Core resolution logic:

  • Series outcome (EMPIRE vs Team Aether) resolves to the team that wins the BO3 match per official HLTV.org.
  • Individual map winners resolve to the team winning that map, provided the map is completed.
  • Map statistics (total kills, total rounds) resolve based on actual recorded values in completed maps.
  • Series length (Games Total O/U 2.5) resolves Over if 3+ maps are played, Under if fewer than 3 maps are played.
  • Map Handicap (Team Aether -1.5 vs EMPIRE +1.5) resolves to Team Aether if they win 2+ more maps than EMPIRE; otherwise EMPIRE.
  • Completed maps won by forfeit, disqualification, or walkover count toward series totals and handicap calculations.
  • If a map is not played because the series is already clinched (e.g., one team wins 2-0 before Map 3), that unplayed map resolves to 50-50.
  • If the match is canceled entirely, ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days without a winner determined, all markets resolve to 50-50.
  • If the match begins but is not completed and one team wins via opponent forfeiture/disqualification/walkover, that team is credited as the series winner; however, unplayed maps resolve to 50-50.
  • If the match ends due to the clinching map being forfeited, the series is considered completed and the winner is determined.
  • Team name variations (abbreviations, sponsor tags, minor spelling differences, regional identifiers) are treated as referring to the same team if unambiguous identification is possible within the competition context.

Edge cases & Clarifications:

  • Map not played due to series clinch: If a team clinches the series before Map 3 is needed (e.g., 2-0 result after Map 2), Map 3 markets (winner, kills, rounds) resolve to 50-50 because the map was never played.
  • Forfeit/disqualification at series level: If the entire match is forfeited, disqualified, or results in a walkover before play begins, the series resolves to 50-50. If a team wins via opponent forfeiture mid-series (after at least one map is played), the winner is credited for the series, but unplayed maps resolve to 50-50.
  • Delay beyond 7 days: If the match is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date (April 26, 2026) without a winner determined, all markets resolve to 50-50.
  • Map remake: If a map is remade, resolution is based on the remade game only; the original game is disregarded.
  • Team kills and self-inflicted deaths: For kill-count markets, team kills (friendly fire) and self-inflicted deaths (falling damage, own grenade) do not count as kills.

Timing:

Resolution occurs upon official publication of match results on HLTV.org. If HLTV does not publish within 2 hours of event conclusion, credible consensus reporting is used. Markets resolve immediately upon determination of the outcome; unplayed maps resolve to 50-50 at the time the series is concluded or the 7-day delay threshold is exceeded.
