PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Polymarket explicitly resolves match winner to 50-50 if the match ends in forfeit/disqualification/walkover before play begins, while Kalshi's binary Yes/No structure does not address this scenario and may resolve to Yes for the non-forfeiting team. This creates a logical contradiction in edge-case handling.Hero tip: If a forfeit, disqualification, or pre-match walkover occurs, expect Polymarket to resolve 50-50 but Kalshi may resolve Yes to the winning team. Verify with platform support immediately if this scenario occurs, as payouts will diverge.

Critical divergence points:

  • Polymarket: Match winner (BO3) resolves to the winning team if match completes normally. If match is canceled, ends in tie, or delayed beyond 7 days without winner determined, resolves 50-50. Critically: if match begins but is not completed and one team wins via forfeit/disqualification/walkover, resolves to that team. However, if match ends in forfeit/disqualification/walkover (team withdraws before start), resolves 50-50. Quote: 'If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50.'
  • Kalshi: Match winner resolves to Yes if either Acend or ECHO wins the match. No explicit resolution rules provided for forfeit, disqualification, walkover, cancellation, or tie scenarios. Binary Yes/No structure implies any decisive outcome resolves to Yes, but edge cases are undefined. Quote: 'If Acend wins the Super DraculaN 2026: ECHO vs. Acend CS2 match originally scheduled for Jun 27, 2026 at 11:00 AM EDT, then the market resolves to Yes. If ECHO wins...then the market resolves to Yes.'
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Polymarket

This market refers to the Counter-Strike Semifinal 2 match between Acend and ECHO in the Super DraculaN Playoffs, initially scheduled for June 27 at 11:00AM ET. This market will resolve to "Acend" if Acend win the match against ECHO. This market will resolve to "ECHO" if ECHO win the match against Acend. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://hltv.org. However, if https://hltv.org has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Kalshi

The Super DraculaN 2026: ECHO vs. Acend CS2 match scheduled for June 27, 2026 at 11:00 AM EDT will be contested between the two teams. Resolution is determined by the official match outcome, with the winning team being the one that achieves victory according to the tournament's standard competition rules and format.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets like Polymarket and Kalshi derive odds from real-money trader positions rather than bookmaker models, often reflecting sharper consensus on esports outcomes. Sportsbooks apply margins and may lag behind live market repricing, whereas prediction platforms update continuously as new information surfaces. For a Counter-Strike playoff, prediction markets can capture nuanced team form, recent roster changes, and map pool dynamics faster than traditional odds, making them a useful reference point for comparing against your sportsbook lines.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and fee structures, causing temporary price gaps. Polymarket may emphasize map-specific outcomes while Kalshi focuses on match winners, leading to distinct probability distributions. Regulatory frameworks, settlement timelines, and user interface design also influence how quickly each platform reacts to news. Arbitrage traders often exploit these spreads, but gaps can persist if one venue has lighter volume or a more specialized audience focused on esports prediction.

Roster changes, player substitutions, or unexpected roster announcements from either team could trigger sharp repricing. Recent tournament results, map veto patterns, and head-to-head records often shift trader sentiment in Counter-Strike playoffs. Injury news, coaching changes, or leaked scrim outcomes may also influence odds. Additionally, betting volume spikes around playoff day itself can accelerate price movement as casual traders enter the market, and any pre-match interviews or team statements about preparation and strategy could sway the consensus odds.
