PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi's market scope is a logical superset that resolves Yes for any decisive match outcome, whereas Polymarket requires explicit winner identification. This creates a structural mismatch in market design rather than a true contradiction in resolution criteria.Hero tip: Treat Kalshi as a binary hedge only if you interpret it as a bet on match completion (not cancellation). For precise winner exposure, use Polymarket. For Map 1 rounds, Polymarket is the only platform with granular data.

Critical divergence points:

  • Polymarket: Match winner market resolves to team name (6666 or Esport BERG) if that team wins; resolves 50-50 if canceled, tied, delayed >7 days without completion, or forfeited before start. Map 1 rounds market resolves Over/Under 21.5 only if Map 1 plays to completion; otherwise 50-50. Source: HLTV.org, with 2-hour credible reporting fallback. Key quote: 'If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50.'
  • Kalshi: Market resolves to Yes if Esport BERG wins OR if 6666 wins the match. No explicit handling of cancellations, ties, or forfeits. This creates a tautology: any decisive outcome triggers Yes. Key quote: 'If Esport BERG wins... then the market resolves to Yes. If 6666 wins... then the market resolves to Yes.'
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Polymarket

This market refers to the Counter-Strike match between 6666 and Esport BERG in the Urban Riga Open #5 Group A, initially scheduled for June 28 at 1:30PM ET. This market will resolve to "6666" if 6666 win the match against Esport BERG. This market will resolve to "Esport BERG" if Esport BERG win the match against 6666. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://hltv.org. However, if https://hltv.org has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Kalshi

Resolution is determined by the final result of the Urban Riga Open #5 2026 CS2 match between Esport BERG and 6666 scheduled for June 28, 2026 at 1:30 PM EDT. The market resolves Yes for whichever team wins the match.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets and sportsbooks price outcomes differently because they operate under distinct incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and extract a margin; prediction markets rely on peer-to-peer trading, where prices emerge from collective belief. Sportsbooks typically adjust faster to sharp action and news, while prediction markets may lag if retail traders dominate. For esports events like this one, sportsbook coverage is often sparse or unavailable, making prediction markets a primary price discovery venue. Comparing the two reveals whether professional oddsmakers and decentralized traders agree on the likely winner.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and regulatory frameworks. Kalshi operates under CFTC oversight in the US and may draw institutional or compliance-conscious traders, while Polymarket operates globally with fewer restrictions, attracting a broader retail base. Funding mechanisms, fee structures, and UI design also influence order flow and price discovery speed. Esports markets on Polymarket often see higher participation than on Kalshi, potentially driving faster repricing. Arbitrage traders exploit these gaps, but temporary spreads persist due to withdrawal delays, platform friction, and information asymmetries between user bases.

Roster changes, player substitutions, or injury announcements for either team could shift trader conviction significantly. Recent map pool performance, head-to-head records, and bootcamp results often trigger repricing as new information surfaces. Betting syndicates or professional traders entering the market can create sharp moves, especially if they hold contrarian views. Streaming or media coverage revealing team form or morale may influence retail traders. Technical issues, tournament delays, or bracket changes could also create volatility. Monitor esports news feeds and team social media for lineup updates or performance indicators in the days leading up to the match.
