This market tracks the outcome of the first set in the professional tennis match between Corentin Moutet and Marcos Giron at the 2026 Wimbledon Men's Singles Round of 128 on June 29. The winner of set 1 determines the market resolution.
The market resolves based on which player wins set 1 in the Moutet vs. Giron match at 2026 Wimbledon Men's Singles Round of 128. If the match does not occur before play begins due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation, the market resolves to a fair price. If postponed or delayed, the market remains open and closes after the rescheduled match concludes within two weeks. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play resolve accordingly; those that cannot are resolved to Fair Market Price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and manage risk, while prediction markets aggregate the beliefs of traders risking real capital on outcomes. Prediction markets can sometimes offer sharper pricing because traders have direct financial exposure and no house edge to maintain. However, sportsbooks may move faster on breaking news or injuries. Comparing this market's odds to major sportsbooks can reveal where consensus differs and highlight potential value opportunities for informed bettors.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for shares representing each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the marginal trade—the last executed transaction—and converges toward the true probability as more traders participate. Shares trade between 0 and 100 cents, with the sum of all outcome prices typically anchored near $1.00. Liquidity and trading volume influence how tightly bid-ask spreads remain, affecting your ability to enter or exit positions at favorable prices.
This market resolves around Jun 29, 2026, once the Set 1 result is finalized and verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which player wins the first set of the Moutet vs Giron match. Once the set concludes and the result is confirmed through official tournament records or reliable sports reporting, the market will settle and winning shares will be credited. Traders holding the correct outcome receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless.
Several factors can shift odds before the match begins and during Set 1. Player injury announcements or withdrawal news would trigger sharp repricing. Recent form updates, head-to-head records, and surface-specific performance data influence trader conviction. Court conditions—such as humidity, temperature, or court speed—can favor one player's style and prompt position adjustments. Real-time developments during the set itself, including early breaks, momentum shifts, or tactical adjustments, drive continuous price movement. News about player confidence, coaching changes, or off-court circumstances may also sway market sentiment leading up to and throughout the opening set.
