These markets track whether individual golfers finish in the top 5 positions at the 2026 Corales Puntacana Championship, a professional golf tournament. Each golfer has a separate market that resolves Yes if they achieve a top-5 finish, including ties.
Each market resolves to Yes if the specified golfer finishes in the top 5 (including ties) in the 2026 Corales Puntacana Championship. If a golfer forfeits, withdraws, or doesn't participate prior to teeing off, the market resolves to Fair Market Price. If a golfer forfeits, withdraws, or doesn't participate after teeing off, the market resolves to No.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, while prediction markets aggregate the beliefs of traders betting their own capital. This market's odds may lead or lag sportsbook lines depending on which venue processes new information faster. Comparing the two can reveal where consensus differs and highlight potential value, though both should be viewed as estimates rather than certainties about tournament outcomes.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for each top-five finisher outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Prices reflect the probability that each golfer finishes in the top five, expressed as a decimal between 0 and 1. As new information arrives—injury reports, weather forecasts, or recent tournament results—traders adjust their orders, and prices move to reflect updated expectations. The most actively traded outcomes typically have tighter bid-ask spreads, while less popular picks may show wider gaps.
This market resolves around Aug 2, 2026, once the Corales Puntacana Championship concludes and final leaderboard results are confirmed. The outcome is determined by the official finishing positions published by the PGA Tour, verified against credible public sources. Each trader's position settles based on whether their selected golfer finishes in the top five positions or does not. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the tournament's conclusion, allowing traders to see results reflected in their accounts promptly.
Several factors can shift odds in this market before resolution. Player injuries or withdrawals announced before the tournament begins will immediately reprrice affected outcomes. Weather forecasts and course condition updates influence expectations, as do recent tournament results and form trends. Media coverage highlighting a golfer's momentum or concerns can sway trader sentiment. During the tournament itself, live leaderboard updates and real-time performance drive continuous repricing. Late-round drama—comebacks, collapses, or unexpected performances—typically creates the most volatile price movements as traders adjust their assessments of who will finish in the top five.
